Rain becoming confined to the east/southeast England and turning heavy
A cloudy, grey and in some parts wet start to Sunday, particularly across eastern Scotland and western regions of England. Through the morning a band of rain will track across into eastern and central southern parts of England, clearing Scotland.
In the afternoon the band of rain becomes confined to easternmost counties, turning heavy and persistent across parts of southeast England. An improving day further west with plenty of dry and sunny conditions expected, though staying cloudy across much of England and the far east of Scotland perhaps with some light rain for some.
Rain will continue to fall heavy into the evening across parts of east and southeast England, eventually turning light and patchy later in the night. Elsewhere, mainly dry with clear spells seeing minimum temperatures drop, though cloudier across northwest Scotland, Northern Ireland and west Ireland with patchy rain pushing in here later.
