Morning Call - May 26, 2021
Rain & showers north
Cloud to southwest

Issued: 0530hrs Wednesday 26th May 2021
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Rain and showers northern England, cloud southwestern areas, dry and brighter for others

A cloudy start to the morning across much of northern England and Scotland. There will be some rain affecting northern parts of England, the most persistence of this in the north-east. Generally driving much of Scotland, although some drizzle in the far north east. Cloudy to the far south of Ireland and Southwest England, but elsewhere it should be quite a bright start to the day with broken clouds and some sunny spells.

This afternoon sees further outbreaks of mostly light rain across northern England with more persistent showers starting to break out across central and southern Scotland. Mostly dry across much of the West Midlands, Wales and Northern Ireland, but some cloud affecting southern Ireland and Southwest England. A scattering of showers over the East Midlands and East Anglia.

Tonight sees any rain and showers fading away with skies becoming clearer. Always some cloud affecting eastern coast. Later in the night thicker cloud arrives in Southwest Ireland bringing some rain here by the morning.
