Morning Call - December 11, 2020
Outbreaks of rain
Very wet northeast Scotland

Issued: 0530hrs Friday 11th December 2020
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

Outbreaks of rain affect many areas today with the heaviest and most persistent of this over northeastern Scotland. The best of any bright spells today will come over southern parts of England and Wales.

Good Morning,

A cloudy and west start for eastern parts of England and Scotland. Rain clears from England over the North Sea through the morning but persists over northeast Scotland where it could be rather heavy too. A drier start for many western and central areas though northwestern parts of Scotland see some morning rain and showers are possible elsewhere in the west over coasts and hills. Some bright spells to the southwest.

Rain arrives over western Ireland during the afternoon spreading into Northern Ireland and eastern Ireland later. Elsewhere rain persists over northeast Scotland while showers affect southern and eastern parts of England and Wales. Some spells of sunshine develop over southwest Ireland as well as over southern parts of England and Wales.

Rain spreads from eastern Ireland into western parts of England, Wales and southern Scotland through the evening. Northeastern parts of Scotland continue to see persistent and often heavy outbreaks of rain. Drier in between these bands of rain with some clear spells over the south of the UK.

Have a good day!

Claire
