Mostly fair
Chance of showers southwest

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 14th July 2019
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

A mostly dry and fair day ahead for the British Isles as high pressure is in control. The best of the sunshine for Ireland and the northwest. A chance of light scattered showers for Wales and southwestern parts of England.

Good morning,

Overnight showers over eastern England should fade to give a dry and fair start to the day across the country. The brightest conditions for Ireland and the western UK first thing, cloudier to the east. Northeastern coastal parts of England could see a spot of light drizzly rain through the morning.

Continuing rather cloudy for much of England, Wales and southern Scotland through the afternoon with a chance of light, scattered showers developing over Wales and the southwest of England. One or two of these could be heavy over the West Country. THe best of the sunshine for Ireland, Northern Ireland and western Scotland. High temperatures widely ranging from 18 to 22C. Cooler under the cloudier conditions on eastern coasts at just 15 to 17C and warmer under the sun in western Ireland at 23C.

Showers fade into Sunday evening leaving a dry end to the day across the country. Away form eastern coastal areas skies should clear too to give a sunny evening for many.

Have a good day!
Claire
