Morning Call - July 13, 2019
Mostly dry with sunny spells
Showers at times in the east

Issued: 0530hrs Saturday 13th July 2019
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

High pressure brings a mostly dry and bright day for the British Isles. There will be showers at times in the east and outbreaks of rain over the Pennines.

Good morning,

A cloudy start to the day for many as high pressure is centred to the southwest of Ireland. Feeling cooler for most too as a northerly flow is established across the British Isles. Through the morning there will be scattered light showers affecting northern coasts of Scotland and Wales with heavier bursts for eastern Scotland, spreading into northern England.

Showers will continue over eastern Scotland and into northern England through the afternoon and they may merge to give longer spells of rain over the Pennines. Conditions will brighten to the west too through the afternoon to give some good spells of sunshine across the island of Ireland, for much of Scotland, for Wales and across central and southern parts of England. High temperatures reaching 15 to 18C for northern Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland; 19 to 23C for England, central and southern Scotland and Ireland.

Some heavy showers will persist into the evening for southeastern Scotland and eastern parts of England, these edging southward as the evening draws on. Elsewhere will see a dry and bright end to the day.

Have a good day!
Claire
