Risk of showers in the north

Heavier cloud again across many central and eastern regions of Scotland into the Borders and northwest England with some patchy light rain about. Sunny spells developing here.

The risk of showers in the nort heightens heading into the afternoon. Largely dry and fine elsewhere with lasting sunshine for many though a stiff northerly wind across eastern English counties and west Wales.

Any showers gradually fizzle out thruogh the evening to allow for a largely dry night through cloud is expected to build. The risk of some light rain/drizzle for the odd location in the west.
