Dry, sunny
Very warm

Issued: 0530hrs Tuesday 23rd July 2019
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

A dry, sunny and very warm day for most. Thunderstorms developing southwest through the late afternoon.

Good morning,

A warm and muggy start to the day across the country with temperatures widely in the mid- to high teens first thing this morning. Clear skies and sunshine for most, particularly to the east. Cloudier to the west with a few light showers or drizzly rain for far western parts of Ireland and western and northern parts of Scotland. Continuing much this way through the morning with sunshine increasing to the north and west.

Through the afternoon a few showers may continue for northwestern parts of Ireland and Scotland, but, on the whole, it will be a dry and sunny day across the British Isles. High temperatures in the 20sC for most, reaching into the low 30s in parts of the southeast.

An area of thunderstorms will develop over southwestern England through the late afternoon and into the evening and will spread northward across the country through Tuesday evening and overnight.

Have a good day!
Claire
