Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

High pressure brings a mostly dry and bright day to the UK and Ireland. Cloud will build from the west through the day bringing scattered showers to the island of Ireland and west parts of the UK.

Good morning,

It's a clear and bright start to the day for most of us across the British Isles this morning. Some cloud around for southeastern coasts of England and the far west of Ireland while there may aslo be some mist and murk around for northeastern coasts of Scotland. Through the morning, cloud will build over Ireland bringing some light showers across Ireland and into western parts of Wales and the West Country.

Cloud will continue to build from the west across the UK through this afternoon with a risk of light showers persisting for Ireland, Northern Ireland, Wales, the West Country and across northern mainland Scotland. Staying dry and bright to the east. High temperatures widely ranging from 19 to 22C. Cooler along eastern coasts and in the southeast of England at 16 to 18C while some isolated spots could reach 24 or 25C.

Cloud continues to build eastward through the evening but showers should ease for most. Staying bright to the far northeast and southeast.

Have a good day!
Claire
