Turning colder

Saturday
Low pressure is east of the UK on Saturday which pulls down a colder northerly air flow into northern areas. Plenty of sunshine across central and southern England and Wales but also a few showers about too. Cloudier across northern England, southern Scotland and Northern Ireland where showers are more widespread, some merging into longer spells of rain. Snow possible over the higher ground in northern Scotland. Highs at 10 to 14C in south, 6 to 10C further north.

Saturday Night
Showery rain continuing into the evening across northern England and parts of southern Scotland. Meanwhile, cloud builds and rain advances northwards spreading across southern and central Ireland, Wales and much of England overnight. Some snow showers affecting northern Scotland and the higher ground here, otherwise others will stay dry. Lows dropping to 0 to 3C across Scotland into northern England, some places seeing a touch of frost. While elsewhere lows at 4 to 7C.

Sunday
A cooler day for all on Sunday. After a wet start across southern areas, thicker cloud and rain gradually clears from the west through the day. Brighter further north with plenty of sunshine but also scattered showers, these turning increasingly into snow across northern Scotland with some wintry showers down eastern coastal areas. Highs at 6 to 10C.

Monday
A ridge of high pressure builds through Monday. After many seeing a frosty start, it will be a dry and fine day for most, though some wintry showers do look to affect some North Sea coastal areas. A colder feeling day for all with highs at 5 to 9C.
