A mixed day with rain, showers and sunny spells

A cloudy start to the morning across many eastern parts of England and Scotland. It will become brighter though from the west quite quickly with some sunny spells for many. Rather windy across Southwest England and western Wales as well as western Scotland. Wet in the far north of Scotland, with some showers affecting western coast of Wales and England. Breezy in Ireland with rain here.

This afternoon stays wet across much of central and northern Ireland as well as much of central and southern Scotland. There will be further rain over the Isle of Man and Northwest England. Brighter skies with sunny spells and some showers in the Midlands, Wales and Southwest England. Another area of rain may affect the far south east of England later. Breezy for al and much milder.

Tonight will see two areas of rain. One will be affecting much of Scotland where it could be heavy. A further area of rain across much of central, southern and south eastern England. Generally drier elsewhere.
