Warm days ahead, but then changing later in the weekend to windier, wetter, cooler weather

Fine weather to come in the next couple of days for many and feeling warm too. There will be changes taking place later in the weekend and into next week. The jet stream becomes stronger and that brings lower pressure with rain and showers. Winds are likely to be stronger and it will be cooler too.

Monday 23/09/19
A deep area of low pressure is centred west of Ireland on Monday. This brings wind and rain into Ireland and the southwest UK. Brighter for Scotland and in the east at first but rain arriving here later. Showers follow into Ireland, some of them heavy. Highs at 16 to 18C in many areas, 20C in East Anglia.

Tuesday 24/09/19
Further rain passing eastwards through the country with sunshine and showers following from the southwest. Heavier bursts of rain affecting Wales and southern and western parts of England. The showers group into heavier periods of rain with a risk of hail and thunder in Ireland and western Scotland. Gales in the west too. Highs at 15 to 20C.
 

Wednesday 25/09/19
Low pressure continues to bring strong winds, outbreaks of rain and showers. The showers could be heavy, especially to the south and west. Drier and brighter to the north and east. High temperatures at 14 to 19C.

 
 
 

Thursday 26/09/19
Low pressure to the west of Scotland brings a band of heavy rain sweeping from west to east across Ireland and the UK. Getting brighter from the west behind this with some bright or sunny spells developing though there will also be frequent showers. Staying breezy. Highs at 15 to 20C, just 13 or 14C in northwest Scotland.

Friday 27/09/19
Low pressure stays close by bringing further outbreaks of rain for Ireland and western and southern parts of the UK. Brighter to the north and east but showers here at times. High temperatures at 13 to 18C.

Saturday 28/09/19
Frequent showers continue on Saturday as low pressure stays to the northwest. Showers merging to give longer spells of rain in the west. Drier to the east. High temperatures at 12 to 18C.
