Morning Call - December 17, 2017
Milder but dull
Rain or drizzle

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 17th December 2017
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Largely dry all day south

Good morning,

High pressure lies to the south of Britain today, centred around Biscay. A trough of low pressure and fronts move across northern regions. A cold front passes south-eastwards across Britain into the evening and night, and pressure will then build from the south-west.

Generally cloudy throughout the day, and very dull, especially in the west. A spell of rain for Scotland, preceded by snow over the mountains. Rain spreads across northern England toward the Midlands through the day, reaching southern areas later, although amounts small. A little rain also moves across Ireland.

Southern Britain stays dry through most of daylight, with some brighter skies toward the south-east. Patchy drizzle developing in the south-west.

Blustery winds, strongest in the north. Milder than recent times - today's top temperatures will be 8 to 10C for most, up to 12C around south-western coasts.

Have a great day.
