Outbreaks of rain affect most parts of Ireland and the UK today though it is a generally improving pictures for most areas away from the south of England. Temperatures stay mild over southern areas while cooler air moves into Scotland and Northern Ireland as rain clears here.

Good Morning,

It's a wet start to the day for many as an area of low pressure brings outbreaks of rain across Ireland, Northern Ireland, Wales, England and much of Scotland through the morning. There will be some areas of locally very heavy rainfall embedded within the main area of rain. Rain will turn to snow over the Scottish mountains while far northeastern parts of Scotland will stay dry but cloudy through much of the morning. Conditions will improve towards lunchtime over Ireland, Northern Ireland and the southwest of the UK though western parts of Wales could see the development of heavy showers in the wake of the rain.

Rain clears eastern England through the afternoon allowing a spell of dry but cloudy conditions for much of Ireland, Northern Ireland, England and Wales. Rain and snow persists over much of Scotland throughout the afternoon. A further area of rain spreads into southern Ireland and the far southwest of the UK through the late afternoon.

Rain is slow to clear the far north of Scotland and the Northern Isles through Monday evening though across the rest of Scotland and Northern Ireland, the evening is largely dry and clear. Further south it remains a cloudy evening with outbreaks of rain spreading across Wales, the West Country and into the West Midlands.

Have a good day!

Claire
