Frosty start then patchy rain moving in
A frosty and dry start for many. Brighter across southern areas but cloudier in the north and west as patchy rain progressively moves across Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland in the morning, heavier rain mixed with some initial snow for the northwest of Scotland and strengthening winds.
This afternoon sees outbreaks of rain move across northern and central England as well as Wales. Showers, these merging into longer spells of rain in places, are expected further north and west. Largely dry across southern English counties with some sunny spells still.
Becoming breezy further south overnight with patchy rain moving through. Scattered showers further north and west with these continue to merge into longer spells of rain as a front moves in to north and west Scotland later in the night. A milder night for many.
