Morning Call - November 27, 2021
High winds
Feeling bitterly cold

Issued: 0530hrs Saturday 27th November 2021
Duty forecaster: Alexi Venerus

High winds and damaging gusts gradually ease

A windy morning with strong to gale force winds still for many, especially towards coasts, where wind chill will be significant. Outbreaks of rain and sleet, but also snow over the higher ground, across central and eastern England. Drier and brighter further north and west, although showers, many wintry, will affect northern coasts as well as southwest Wales and southwest England.

This afternoon, rain and perhaps sleet continue to affect eastern England, particularly the southeast. Wintry showers continue down northern coasts elsewhere but dry and bright conditions for many. Winds easing back for many in the north and west but staying strong to near gale force across central and southeast England. Still feeling very cold.

Overnight, wintry showers continue to affect coastal areas. Elsewhere, it will be dry with clear skies allowing for a frost to develop across Scotland and Northern England, a hard frost in places.
