Widespread, heavy showers as well as longer spells of rain

A cloudy, murky and wet start for many in the north and west with showery rain about. Central and southeast England largely dry with some developing sunny spells.

Showers as well as longer spells of rain continue at high risk across northern and western areas, some heavy with thunderstorms developing further west. SE England remaining dry with southern counties of Ireland becoming dry and bright.

The showers largely ease off overnight and many places becoming dry with clear spells developing, however, some eastern into south-eastern areas of England will see rain push through here clearing from the north and west towards dawn.
