Showers developing, some heavy and likely to see thunder and lightning.

Sunday starting off with plenty of dry periods about but through the morning showers, some heavy and persistent, will become more widespread across England, Wales, Ireland and Northern Ireland into southern Scotland. Elsewhere across Scotland, expect largely dry conditions with sunny spells.

This afternoon, showers continue, some heavy and likely mixed with thunder and lightning. Scattered showers also expected to develop across western areas of Scotland although eastern areas look to remain mostly dry with sunny spells.

Overnight, low pressure pushes offshore and tracks towards the near continent. Showers will become confined to southeastern areas of England with clear spells and dry conditions developing for most, although far western areas of England, Wales and Scotland could also see showers linger towards dawn.
