Thunderstorms developing in the south

Good morning,

Rather a lot of cloud about through the morning, with the best of the sunny spells across northern England into Wales. Showers, some likely heavy, will push north affecting southern English counties into the Midlands region. Patchy rain affecting Northern Ireland, western Ireland and western Scotland. Mostly dry elsewhere.

The afternoon sees showers in the south turn into thundery downpours for some. A few isolated showers reaching northern England and coastal areas of east Scotland. Patchy rain in the west will makes its way gradually further east.

Overnight, rain in the west will push eastwards and become more widespread across southern Scotland, northern England with patchy rain affecting Wales and southwest England too. The odd thunderstorm may just develop along coastal areas of southeast England. Largely dry elsewhere.
