Morning Call - December 18, 2020
Heavy rain in west
Mild

Issued: 0530hrs Friday 18th December 2020
Duty forecaster: Alexi Venerus

Rain pushing east, heavy, with the risk of localised flooding across western areas. Mild.

A wet start for all but particularly southern and western areas of the UK and Ireland. Patchy light rain across parts of central and eastern Scotland while rain becoming patchy and fizzling out across much of England. More persistent rainfall across Ireland and Northern Ireland and moving in to Wales and southwest England with strengthening winds.

The rain in the west is expected to spread eastwards through the day, heavy for some and with the risk of localised flooding in parts of more western areas. The southeast corner of England staying dry until later on in the evening. A mild day for most.

Rain will continue for all through the first part of the night, heavy still across many places. Through the early hours the rain should gradually clear eastern areas across Scotland and northern England but hold on to the southeast first thing on Saturday. Turning drier behind the rain and staying mainly dry in the east but showers pushing into western areas. A mild night.
