Grey and damp
Milder than recently

Sunday
Fronts move across Britain from the Atlantic, bringing cloudy skies and outbreaks of rain. The most persistent rain affects Scotland and north-west England in the morning. Patchy drizzly rain for the Midlands and south-west England, but becoming wetter in central Britain by afternoon. Blustery southwesterly winds. The south-east fares best for staying dry most of daylight, with some early brightness. Highs 8 to 11C, mildest south-west.

Sunday night
Fronts clear south-eastwards into the night. A fragmenting zone of rain moves across southern England. Becoming largely dry from the north. The south-west may remain damp with hill fog. Skies clearing for Scotland, northern England and perhaps central England & Wales later in the night. Some low-level fog patches forming. Frost in northern areas. Temperatures dipping close to freezing, or locally just below in north. Nearer 3 to 6C far south.

Monday
A fairly quiet day overall as high pressure resides across the British Isles. Some lingering fog patches in central and soutuhern areas, which may keep things chilly. Murky around western coasts, with low cloud and patchy drizzle, although amounts small. Some hazy sunshine, best toward the east & north-east. Light winds for many. A southwesterly breeze for Scotland & Northern Ireland. Highs 5 to 8C, but up to 11C in the far south-west.

Tuesday
High pressure lies toward the south of Britain. Mild southwesterly winds influence the country. A lot of cloud, especially in the west. Patchy drizzly rain for western coasts and hills, but amounts mostly small. Some more persistent rain will move into western Scotland & Ireland. Brightest skies toward the east of Britain, with some sunshine breaking through. Breezy in the north. Highs 10 to 13C, perhaps a degree or so higher to the lee of high ground.
