Few snow showers
Cold & bright

Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 28th December 2017
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Cold but bright, some snow showers to the north and west

Good morning,

A cold morning across the whole of the UK and Ireland. Frost is widespread in the next few hours and watch out for ice on the roads as well. There will be a few snow showers in northern Scotland and another area of lighter showers flowing through Cheshire, Lancashire and into the northern Midlands. Elsewhere dry with sunny spells to start the day.

This afternoon stays fair for most, but cold with more spells of sunshine. Scattered snow showers in northern Scotland and northwest England but dry for most. Cloud thickens through Ireland with rain in the west this morning, this then edges east into wales and southwest England through this afternoon.

Damp in western areas tonight ahead of more rain pass east through all parts tomorrow.
