Feeling fresher
Showery outbreaks of rain

Issued: 0530hrs Saturday 6th July 2019
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

A weak cold front sinks southward across the southern half of the UK and Ireland bringing showery outbreaks of rain at times and much fresher conditions for northern areas

Good morning,

It's a cloudy start to the day for many across Ireland, Wales and central England as a weak cold front lies across the sunshine. Sunny spells to the north and south of this with the odd shower for the far north of Scotland. Along the front will be some light showers and a few outbreaks of rain.

Throughout the day this front edges southward bringing some heavier bursts of rain across parts of the Midlands, eastern Wales and southeast Ireland at times. Brighter conditions follow behind this to the north with odd, isolated showers at times for the far north of Scotland. Feeling much fresher today with highs at just 11 to 12C in the north of Scotland. More widely across the country we'll see highs at 16 to 21C though the southeast could still see 22 or 23C.

Showers and outbreaks of rain will fade for most into this evening though a few could linger over Ireland and the Northern Isles. Dry elsewhere with the clearest skies to the west.

Have a good day!
Claire
