Breezy and fairly cloudy

Good morning,

It's going to be feeling chilly out there today, but get used to that, because the week ahead will become increasingly cold and feeling properly wintry across Britain.

Today, we'll see showers feeding in across northern England and eastern Scotland, falling as snow over higher hills. Perhaps some snow showers lower down for a time in Wales in the morning.

Central-southern England, plus western Scotland, will see a mainly dry day. A lot of cloud, but some sun now and again.

Today's top temperatures will register 5 to 7C, but it will feel more like freezing when you account for the wind chill.
