Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Showers in the east but fair for other areas with sunny spells

Good morning,

Low pressure brings rain and showers over northern and eastern parts of Scotland with a stiff northwesterly flow here. Scattered showers in northwest England and northern wales although these tending to fade away. Mostly dry with sunny spells in central and southern England and Wales although cool this morning. This afternoon sees increasing cloud in Ireland bringing some rain into the far west by the early evening. Scattered showers continue on eastern coasts of England but most places stay dry with sunny spells.

Rain reaches Ireland, Wales and western England tonight whilst Scotland in going to be remaining cold.
