Another windy day across the UK and Ireland with gales for northern and western areas. Showers, some of them wintry, affect western areas throughout the day though these tend to fade over England and Wales into the afternoon. Longer spells of snow could affect northwestern Scotland.

Showers and patchy outbreaks of rain affect western areas through Monday morning. These turn to sleet and snow over western Ireland and over the Highlands of Scotland where they could be quite prolonged. A drier and brighter start to the working week for eastern parts of Ireland and the UK. Strong winds across much of the country too with gales to the north and west.

Conditions continue windy through Monday afternoon with gales persisting for northern and western areas. Showers also continue to affect western parts of Ireland and the UK but these tend to fade over England and Wales. Longer and heavier spells of snow develop over the western Highlands of Scotland. Drier and brighter through the afternoon for central and eastern areas.

Through Monday evening we could see an area of snow develop over the Southern Uplands and spread into northern parts of England while wintry showers persist for western Ireland and western Scotland. Drier with clearer skies for central and eastern areas. Continuing windy into the evening too.
