Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

Another very windy day with widespread gales and severe gales for some coastal areas. An area of heavy rain clears to the south from England and Wales through the morning leaving brighter conditions. Frequent showers, some wintry, for western coasts and hills. Prolonged rain and snow affecting western parts of Scotland. Drier to the east.

Good Morning,

Hevay rain edges southeast across England and Wales this morning. Showers affect western and central parts of Ireland while more prolonged spells of rain and snow affect western Scotland. Mostly dry and bright for eastern parts of Ireland and Scotland. Staying windy with widespread gales once more, severe gales for southern parts of England and Wales.

Rain clears to the southeast of England through the afternoon while brighter conditions follow across much of England and Wales. Showers for western areas, these falling as snow over higher ground across Wales and in the northwest of England. Showers persist for western Ireland while more persistent rain and snow affect western parts of Scotland. Widespread gales continue, severe gales for western and southern coasts.

Not much change into Sunday evening - showers, some wintry, continue for western coasts and hills. The best of any dry weather and clear skies for eastern areas. Continuing very windy with widespread gales, severe gales to the north and west.

Stay safe out there today!

Claire
