Increasing breeze

Issued: 0530hrs Monday 10th September 2018
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Showery rain north-west, wetter later

Good morning,

High pressure lies to the south of Britain, and a southwesterly pattern influences the country. Fronts moving in from the Atlantic will affect Ireland and later western Scotland.

Much of England, Wales and eastern Scotland will be dry all day, with a good deal of sunshine, typically best toward the east. Cloud tending to thicken from the west.

Winds will strengthen in western areas. Turning wetter across Northern Ireland and western Scotland through the afternoon and evening. A little rain reaches north Wales and north-west England later in the day.

Today's top temperatures will reach 21C in the south-east, 17 to 19C for much of central England and Wales, but only 13 to 16C for the north-west of Britain & Ireland.

Have a great day.
Garry
