Thundery showers by the end of the week and weekend, becoming warmer

The dry spell appears to be under threat at the end of this week as thundery rain advances from the south. Thundery showers may then occur in many areas through the weekend as conditions become warmer too.

Thursday 8/6/23
Pressure remains high on Thursday, centred north of Scotland. There will be sunny spells and it should be dry. Increased cloud in Ireland and Scotland. The cloud may drift into northern England making the sunshine hazy. Staying fair in central and eastern areas of England with sunny spells. Highs at 22C in the sunshine, 16C on eastern coasts.
 


Friday 9/6/23
High pressure north of Scotland again on Saturday. An easterly wind affecting the British Isles, this brisk in the south. Eastern areas may have some cloud at first but this breaks and sunny spells develop. The best sunshine in western areas. Some cloud and mist may trouble the far south of Ireland and southwest England, some drizzle here but then the risk of some thundery showers breaking out too. Highs at 22C in southern western areas, 17C in the east and feeling muggy.

Saturday 10/6/23
A slack pressure system over the British Isles on Sunday. Tending towards low pressure in Ireland and southern England and Wales, this allowing for some cloud, mist and a risk of some scattered, thundery showers. Eastern areas probably drier and brighter with sunny spells. Highs at a warm 22 to 27C and feeling muggy.

Sunday 11/6/23
A slack pressure system over the British Isles on Sunday. Monday 12/6/23
High pressure north of Scotland on Monday with lower pressure south of England. There will be sunny spells and warm conditions for many. However, showers developing, some becoming heavy and thundery especially in the south and west. High at 27C in the south, 20C in northern Scotland.

Tuesday 13/6/23
More thundery showers on Tuesday. These mostly in southern and western areas. Drier in the east with sunny spells. Warm again at 20 to 26C.
