Turning drier and warmer across the north next week but staying mixed further south

A mixed end of the week and weekend, particularly for England and Wales. Improving conditions across the north and this looks to set the scene through much of next week with higher pressure ridging in across Scotland and Ireland, becoming warmer here too. England and Wales, however, seeing more rain/showers.

Sunday 27/6/21
A ridge of high pressure affects most of Ireland and the northern half of the UK on Sunday. Fair conditions here with sunny spells. Lower pressure to the south will be bringing cloudier skies to the far south of Ireland, the Midlands with rain affecting southern England. Highs at 17 to 22C.

Monday 28/6/21
Low pressure is to the south of the British Isles on Monday with high pressure west of Ireland ridging in across Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland bringing dry conditions here. There is a threat of showers across much of northern and central England and Wales with showers as well as longer spells of rain for southern England. Highs at 16 to 23C.

Tuesday 29/6/21
Low pressure south of the British Isles on Tuesday. Cloud and outbreaks of rain in the south of England, perhaps southern Wales. Showers across central parts of England. Dry and fair in more northern areas with sunny spells. Highs at 18 to 24C for most but lower through central parts of England.

Wednesday 30/6/21
A ridge of high pressure is expected to build over the country through Wednesday. It should be dry for many areas with bright or sunny spells, however, showers still affecting far southern regions of England. Possible showers developing across southern parts of Ireland too. Highs at 17 to 24C.

Thursday 01/7/21
High pressure is the main weather feature on Thursday with mostly dry weather about, however, a few showers do look to develop across parts of Ireland and Northern Ireland as well as western areas of Scotland. Highs at a warm 21 to 26C.

Friday 02/6/21
High pressure still about come Friday, although it is being pushed northeastwards by an approaching low pressure system in the Atlantic. This will bring more cloud to central and southern regions of England, Wales and Ireland with the risk of some patchy rain pushing across. Drier across Scotland and Northern Ireland. Highs at 19 to 23C.
