A cool northerly wind affects Britain, strongest in eastern areas, but easing from the west as a brief ridge of high pressure builds.
Sunshine and well broken cloud for many places through the day. A few local showers for North Sea coasts, also west Wales for a time, but these fading. Snow flurries for the Cairngorm mountains.
