Cold this week with outbreaks of rain, misty and murky next week

Staying cold through middle to later stages of this week. Periods of rain affecting eastern and southern areas. A little milder over the weekend before things turn more misty and perhaps foggy into next week.

Friday 23/11/18
Low pressure over southern Ireland on Friday with higher pressure to the north of Scotland. A front gives cloud and rain to southern Ireland and southwest England. A further weak occluded front gives rain in Scotland, most of it light and most in eastern Scotland. Broken cloud and a few bright or sunny spells between these two rain areas, just an isolated shower. Highs at a milder 12C in southwest England, more generally 5 to 7C.

Saturday 24/11/18
Low pressure to the south of the UK on Saturday with high pressure remaining to the north. The easterly wind brings some cloud and rain into central and eastern Ireland. More rain affecting the far south of England. Away from eastern coasts it should be brighter. It will be cold with highs of 7 to 10C.

 

Sunday 25/11/18
The easterly flow continues on Sunday as low pressure drifts into the North Sea. Cloud and rain may be affecting eastern areas but the west should be dry and bright with sunny spells. Highs at 6 to 9C.

 
 
 

Monday 26/11/18
Low pressure east of the UK giving cloud and outbreaks of rain here. A lighter flow further west allows for mist and fog, this may be slow to clear. Where the mist and fog does clear it should be brighter. Highs at 5 to 8C.

Tuesday 27/11/18
Little change on Tuesday with some cloud and outbreaks of drizzle or rain in the east. Rather murky elsewhere with a fair amount of mist. Some brighter spells breaking through the cloud too. Highs at 6 to 9C.

Wednesday 28/11/18
Cool in the east with cloud and some spots of rain and drizzle affecting eastern coasts. Misty with some fog patches for much of the UK. Brighter in western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Rain affects western and southern Ireland where it may be windier. Highs at 6C in eastern England, 10C in Ireland.
