Morning Call - December 06, 2020
Cold
Showery rain in east

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 6th December 2020
Duty forecaster: Alexi Venerus

Mist and mist in places. Largely dry but with rain or showers mainly in the east.

In the morning, expect some mist and fog for central and southern parts of England, Northern Ireland and Ireland. It could be slow to clear for some places too. Low pressure sits to the east of Scotland through the day feeding showers or longer spells of rain onto eastern coasts of the UK, these reaching parts of the Midlands and central areas of England. Turning to sleet and snow in paces across eastern Scotland. Some southeastern places of England will also see some patchy rain. Largely dry elsewhere with best of any sunny spells in the west.

During the afternoon, the low pressure will continue to fill allowing for many eastern coasts to see showers largely fizzle out and sunny spells develop in places. Some central England areas though holding on to some lingering rain. Some patchy rain affecting westernmost areas of Ireland and the far north of Scotland but largely dry elsewhere.

Overnight, it looks like it will be largely dry but cold although some western coastal areas and parts of northeast England are most likely to see some patchy rain lingering and will remain frost free. Expect a widespread frost across Scotland, Northern Ireland as well as some eastern areas of Ireland and parts of southern England first thing.
