Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 24th January 2019
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Cloudier west with drizzle and patchy rain, drier in the east

Good morning,

A morning frost in many parts of the country. There could be some showers in central and eastern parts of England at first and these could be wintry. the showers fading in the morning as they drift into East Anglia and southeast England. Increased cloud in western areas of the country.

This afternoon is likely to be cloudier in southwest England, Wales and Ireland as well as northwest England and western Scotland. Spots of drizzle and light rain on western coasts, the more persistent of this over Ireland. Eastern areas should be brighter, some sunny spells in eastern Scotland. Cold in the east, milder in the west.

Damp and murky in the west tonight and across Scotland too. Drier in the east.
