Morning Call - March 24, 2019
Chilly start for many
Dry and bright in the south

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 24th March 2019
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

It will be a chilly start to the day for northern areas where showers will persist through the day. Milder, drier and brighter in the south.

Good morning,

It will be a chilly start to the day for those on the island of Ireland, in Scotland, Wales and the north of England under clear skies with a touch of ground frost possible in more exposed locations. Slightly milder in the south and east where it will also be cloudier. A dry start too away from the northwest of Scotland and the Northern Isles.

Multiple bands of scattered showers will sink southward over Scotland, Northern Ireland and into the north of England and Wales throughout the day. It will stay dry for Ireland and central and southern parts of England where some good bright spells will develop. Breezy in the north. High temperatures widely reaching 7 to 11C though 12 or 13C is possible in the southeast.

Showers will ease for most through the late afternoon and into the evening with the exception of the north of Scotland where showers and light rain will persist. Becoming cloudier through the evening too away from eastern and southern coastal regions.

Have a good day!
Claire
