It will be a chilly start to day for the northern half of the country. Showers and rain will move in from the west through the day.

It will be a chilly start to the working week for Scotland and the north of England with patches of frost and ice a possibility first thing. It will be a bright start for eastern areas while it will be cloudier in the west with light rain or drizzle affecting western parts of Ireland, Scotland and Wales and the northwest of England. Through the morning, scattered showers will spread eastward across central and southern England.


Cloud and showers will continue to spread eastward through the afternoon while more persistent periods of rain will affect western Scotland, western Wales and the northwest of England. Some good sunny spells will develop between showers. High temperatures reaching 7 to 9C for Scotland and Northern Ireland, 8 to 11C for Ireland, England and Wales.


Showers and rain should ease for most areas through the evening though it may remain rather cloudy.
