Saturday 26/1/19
Low pressure to the east of the UK on Saturday will force associated fronts southwards through the country. These fronts bring areas of rain, some of it heavy across southern Scotland, Northern England, Wales, Southwest England and eastern Ireland in the morning. There may be some sleet or snow over the hills. The rain then passes through all other areas during the afternoon. Following will be much brighter but cooler weather. Heavy, wintry showers developing across northern and western Scotland and these will move into Ireland through the morning. The showers then affecting western parts of England and Wales in the afternoon and turning increasingly to sleet and snow. Heavy periods of snow could affect western Scotland and later Northern Ireland. A strong northwest wind developing. Highs at 9C in southeast England, but 4C in northern Scotland.

Sunday 27/1/19
A cold day in a north to northwest flow. There will be good spells of sunshine for many, especially in the west. Wintry showers around western, northern and eastern coasts and hills, the heaviest in the east. Highs at 2 to 5C.

Monday 28/1/19
A cool day again on Monday with a north-westerly wind affecting all part of the country. Wintry showers may affect eastern coasts and hills although western areas are likely to be drier and brighter overall. Thicker cloud in Ireland and possibly Southwest England may produce some patchy rain here. Temperatures at 4 to 6C.

Tuesday 29/1/19
Low pressure to the north of Scotland will drive fronts south-eastwards bringing rain, sleet and snow with them. There is a risk of some heavy snow showers following into Scotland, Northern Ireland and Northern England. Feeling cold in the strong north-westerly wind with temperatures at 2 to 6°C overall.

Wednesday 30/1/19
Low pressure stays to the east of the UK on Wednesday with the chilly north-westerly float persisting. A mix of sunshine and showers are expected most around coasts and hills facing the wind. Highs at 2 to 5C.

Thursday 31/1/19
Chilly on Thursday as low pressure passes through. This will bring rain and sleet with it, together with the risk of some snow. Highs at 2 to 6C.
