Issued: 0530hrs Monday 2nd November 2020
Duty forecaster: Alexi Venerus

Windy for England, Wales and Ireland. Blustery showers or longer spells of rain about. Turning cooler.

This morning, winds staying brisk across England, Wales and much of Ireland. Rain in the form of a cold front will clear southeastern parts of England with with blustery showers and sunny spells developing behind. Meanwhile, outbreaks of rain affecting southern and central Scotland, northern England, Northern Ireland and northern parts of Ireland. Largely dry across northern Scotland but with some showers about.

This afternoon, staying windy across England and Wales with blustery showers still about. Longer spells of rain should clear further north but be replaced by a more showery scene. Mild for much of the day across southern and southeastern areas but cooler air moves across the country and by the end of the day.

Overnight, it will continue to be breezy with showers mainly affecting western areas but reaching across to eastern parts at times too. Longer spells of rain could move into southwestern parts of England later on in the night with the rain spreading eastwards across southern England towards dawn. A chilly night across central Scotland but milder elsewhere.
