Morning Call - January 02, 2022
Bursts of rain
Feeling cooler

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 2nd January 2022
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Dry and bright at times

Good morning,

It's a comparatively cooler day ahead despite brisk southwesterly winds prevailing. Today our airflow has originated more from the north Atlantic, rather than the tropics as seen in recent days!

That will result in showers in the forecast, sometimes quite organised heavy bursts of rain tracking eastwards across Britain. A risk of hail and the odd rumble of thunder in places.

One batch of wet weather heads off into the North Sea this morning, whilst another moves into Wales and the southwest to swing across the Midlands this afternoon. Western Scotland will also see frequent clusters of showers. Best of the dry weather will be further east.

Today's top temperatures will range between 7 and 11C, warmest in the far south, but will feel quite fresh in the wind.

Have a great day.
Garry
