Cold
Snow on Sunday

Saturday
Another cold day with a frosty start, particularly in the north. Low-pressure north of Scotland will again be bringing some snow showers to the coasts of northern and western Scotland with a risk of one or two heavy ones affecting hills in western Scotland too. Scattered snow showers could become more widespread across Wales too. But for large parts of the country it will remain dry and bright. Temperatures at 3 to 5C.

Saturday Night
With a transient ridge building in across the country through the evening it will be a largely dry night. However snow showers will continue to affect northern and western Scottish coasts and hills. Cloud will build across Ireland, Northern Ireland and southern Scotland as rain, sleet and snow push into these areas through the early hours. A widespread frost is expected to develop. Lows at -10C over the snow fields of Scotland, more general 0 to -4C.

Sunday
Low pressure pushes down the UK on Sunday and it will push rain, sleet and snow to lower levels across Ireland and Northern Ireland during the early hours and then into west Scotland, Wales and southwest England by dawn. The low pressure centre is then expected to track across Wales and down over southern central England pushing the snow risk further east across England. Far eastern areas of the country as well as northern Scotland, however, look to remain dry but will cloud over. Cold for all. Highs at 1 to 5C.

Monday
Another cold day but with plenty of sunny spells and largely dry weather across the UK and Ireland. Wintry showers could affect the southeast corner of England first thing before clearing off to allow for a largely dry rest of the day while snow showers continue to affect northern and western coasts and hills. Highs at 2 to 5C.
