It will start bright but the day will turn increasingly wet and windy as a deep area of low pressure moves in from the Atlantic

Good morning,

It will be a bright start for eastern areas though some showers may linger over East Anglia first thing. Cloudier in the west with rain for Northern Ireland. As the morning progresses rain will spread eastward reaching western fringes of Scotland accompanied by near gale to gale force winds. Gusts in excess of 50-55 mph are possible for southern Ireland and the Western Isles through the morning.

Rain and gales will continue to spread eastward through the afternoon with rain reaching most of Scotland, Wales and western England by the early evening. Gusts in excess of 50 mph are expected for Irish Sea coasts through the afternoon. High temperatures reaching 8 to 14C.

Rain will clear for for Ireland and Scotland through the evening leaving sunny spells and wintry showers over higher ground in Scotland. Rain will persist for Wales, northwestern England, the West Midlands and the West Country through the evening. Cloudy but dry in the southeast. Gusts in excess of 45 mph are possible for the Channel coast through Saturday evening and 55 mph gusts or stronger are possible for northwestern Scotland.

Have a good day!
