Mostly dry with broken cloud and sunny spells, windy in Scotland

Good morning,

It's still windy in Scotland this morning. There is plenty of dry weather around here, but some showers affecting more western slopes and coasts. Eastern Scotland is going to be drier and brighter with sunny spells here.

Across the rest of the UK and Ireland it is going to be mostly dry. There will be broken cloud with some bright or sunny spells, the best of these in the east and south. Just an odd shower over the hills of northwest England.

Little changes through this afternoon with plenty of dry weather, broken cloud and bright or sunny spells. More persistent rain reaching northwest Scotland where it is going to be staying windy. A band of rain slipping south through Scotland and into the north of Northern Ireland tonight, whilst staying dry elsewhere.
