Morning Call - December 12, 2020
Bright southwest
Patchy rain northeast

Issued: 0530hrs Saturday 12th December 2020
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

Outbreaks of rain tend to become increasingly confined to northeastern parts of Scotland through the day as a brief spell of drier, brighter weather spreads from the southwest. This will be short-lived as another area of low pressure arrives to the southwest of Ireland this evening.

Good Morning,

Outbreaks of rain affecting Scotland and the northern half of England this morning, reaching as far south as the north Midlands. A brighter morning for Ireland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the southwest of England though a scattering of showers affects southwest-facing coasts and hills.

This brightness spreads across England and into western Scotland with patchy rain becoming confined to the far northeast of both England and Scotland through the afternoon. Elsewhere cloud starts to thick across Ireland as an area of low pressure approaches from the Atlantic.

Through the evening fronts edge across the southwestern half of Ireland and into southwest England bringing outbreaks of rain here. This could be locally heavy. A drier evening elsewhere with the exception of northeast Scotland where patchy rain lingers. The best of any clearer skies to the east.

Have a good day!

Claire
