Mild overall

Issued: 0530hrs Wednesday 16th December 2020
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Rain edging east through the day, breezy and generally mild

It's a wet one this morning over western parts of England, Wales and the south and west of Scotland. Eastern areas are drier although with plenty of cloud. Breezy for all too. Rain and showers in northern and western parts of Ireland, drier in eastern Ireland.

The rain and showers edge eastwards through the day. Northern and western areas will see most of the rain, although East Anglia and the far southeast should be staying dry. Further showers in Ireland, heavy in central and northern areas. Temperatures are likely to be mild.

Tonight sees rain slowly clearing eastwards. Showers in western parts of Scotland and northwest England. Further showers in western Wales and southwest England as well as western Ireland. Drier for other areas with some clearer skies. No risk of frost.
