Windy

Issued: 0530hrs Saturday 19th December 2020
Duty forecaster: Alexi Venerus

Blustery showers in the west, drier elsewhere. Windy.

Expect a cloudy and wet start across southeastern parts of England. Rain will clear offshore by late morning. Elsewhere, expect showers across western areas and drier conditions further east. More in the way of rain across central and northeast Scotland. Blustery winds too with gales across coastal areas in the west.

In the afternoon, blustery showers will conitnue, mainly in the west but some could reach eastern areas. Best of the sunny spells will be in the east.

Overnight, showers continuing across western areas as well as along southern coasts. It will be drier across central and eastern areas with clear spells, although there is the risk for some rain to push right across central and southern Scotland later on. Staying windy too. Not a particularly cold night although it could get chilly across northern mainland Scotland.
