Scattered showers, dry in the west with sunny spells here

Showers this morning across southeast England and East Anglia. Other areas should be drier and brighter with good spells of sunshine, although there will be a scattering of showers over western coasts and hills. Thicker cloud and some outbreaks of rain in the far north of Scotland.

This afternoon sees some showers in Scotland and eastern England, although in the west it should be dry with sunny spells. A few scattering of showers in Ireland, but overall it should be dry here.

Rain and wind arriving overnight in Ireland, gales by the morning. The rain also reaching western Wales and southwest England by early Thursday morning. Drier for other areas, although cloud increases later in the night.
