Morning Call - December 17, 2020
A fair day for many
Rain west later

Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 17th December 2020
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

A fair day with good spells of sunshine, best in the east, rain in the west later

Today is likely to be the best day of the week for many of us. Plenty of sunny spells developing and staying dry as well. A few showers around western and southern casts and hills. More persistent rain may affect northern Scotland at first.

This afternoon remains generally fair, more sunny spells for most, although a tendency for the cloud to increase in the west. This brings rain into western Ireland by midday with the winds increasing here too. The rain and stronger winds reaching wester Scotland and west Wales by early evening.

Te area of rain then edges slowly eastwards through the evening and overnight, to be through the Midlands and southern England by morning. A risk of gales in the west.
