A very unsettled outlook for much of Europe; showers likely for most places over the coming days
High pressure remains over Iberia on Monday bringing a fine and dry day to most of the peninsula. Heavy showers are likely to develop along the northern coast of Spain through the day. A dry and bright day too for the Balearics, Sardinia, Corsica, Italy and Sicily. Rain and showers are possible for coastal areas of the Balkans and for western areas of Turkey but Greece should remain dry and fine.
A cloudy, showery day for much of France with a band of very heavy rain expected to impact eastern-central areas and into southwestern Germany. This rain has the potential to cause some flooding. A band of rain will quickly clear the Low Countries and Germany during Monday morning but scattered showers will linger through most of the afternoon. Heavy rain and snow for the Alps while a band of heavy rain will move eastwards across northern Poland through Monday afternoon.
A showery day for Denmark. A band of wintry precipitation will move through the Baltics on Monday, clearing by the evening. Most parts of southern Norway, Sweden and Finland will catch a wintry shower throughout Monday with more persistent snow affecting the west coast of Norway.
High pressure remains over Iberia on Tuesday leading to a dry and fine day for Portugal, Spain, the Balearics, Sardinia, Corsica and western parts of Italy. There will be some showers for southern and western Italy and the Balkans but good sunny spells in between. Greece will start bright but cloud will build from the west through the day while southern parts of Turkey could see some thundery showers develop.
A cloudy, showery day for much of France with the heaviest showers in the east. Mainly bright and dry for the Low Countries and Germany after a band of rain clears to the south through the morning. Rain and snow for parts of Austria, Switzerland and the Czech Republic which will clear to the east through the afternoon. Rain will move eastward across Poland too.
A dry and bright day for Denmark while the Baltics will be rather cloudy with some scattered showers. Snow and wintry showers across much of Scandinavia particularly along the western coasts of Norway and Finland.
