Low pressure over the Mediterranean brings thunderstorms to Italy this weekend
Cold and showery in northern Spain, the showers heavy and thundery at times. Southern Spain and Portugal will have fewer showers, but will be feeling cool again. Heavy showers and cool weather in the Balearics, extending into Corsica and Sardinia. Italy will have some heavy showers, but more persistent rain in the south. Greece will have a few showers later in the west. Heavy showers in eastern Turkey.
Rain and wind in central and western France, feeling cold. Heavy showers in eastern France as well as the Low Countries. Germany will be windy with heavy showers and longer spells of rain. Further rain and showers in western Poland, drier in the east. Hungary will have a few showers whilst rain affects Austria and Switzerland.
Rain and wind in Denmark. Fair for the Baltic States with sunny spells. Scattered showers through Finland and much of central and northern Sweden. Southern Sweden will have sleet and rain. A few showers in western Norway.
Showers fade over northern Spain and the Balearic Islands to leave a dry and fine day here and for Portugal too. Outbreaks of rain, with some thundery bursts, over Corsica, Sardinia and Italy though these tend to fade from northern areas through the day. Heavy outbreaks of rain spread over western Greece, drier to the east but still occasional showers here. A mostly dry and fair day for Turkey.
A bright start for France with isolated wintry showers to the east and south. Cloud builds from the northwest later. Dry and fine for the Low Countries. Early wintry showers over Germany and Switzerland tend to ease to leave a dry and fine day while Poland, Austria and the Czech Republic see wintry showers throughout the day. Drier for Slovakia and Hungary.
Early rain clears to the east of Denmark to leave a dry and bright day here. Rather overcast with frequent showers for the Baltic States. A mostly dry and fine day for Norway, Sweden and Finland. The best of the brightness to the west over Norway while cloud will increase to the east over Finland. Southern parts of Sweden may see isolated showers develop.
