It will be a mainly dry and fine couple of days for Scandinavia and northern Europe but unsettled in the south and across the Mediterranean as a low pressure system moves from west to east across the basin on Monday and Tuesday. Heavy, possibly thundery, downpours will affect southwestern areas on Monday moving across Italy to the Balkans and Greece on Tuesday.


Monday
Unsettled through the Mediterranean on Monday. Rain and wintry showers for northern Spain; heavy showers developing for the Balearics, Corsica and Sardinia. A wet start to the day for Italy though it should mostly clear to leave a bright day. A wet day too for the Balkans and for western parts of Greece and Turkey with some heavy rain for western Greece in particular early on Monday morning.
A cloudy day for much of France with showers in the southeast falling as snow over the Alps. Rain and wintry showers too for southern Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic and southern Poland. Cloudy for the Low Countries with a chance of showers in Belgium.
A generally bright day for Denmark and the southern Baltics though cloud and snow will push in from the north through the day over Estonia and Latvia. Snow too for Finland on Monday though much of Sweden and Norway will see a bright, dry day.

Tuesday
High pressure develops over Iberia on Tuesday bringing a cloudy but dry day for Spain, Portugal and the Balearics. A cloudy and wet start for Corsica and Sardinia though brightening later to leave a fine afternoon. Italy, the Balkans, much of Greece and eastern Turkey will feel the effects of a low pressure system that will bring heavy, possibly thundery, showers throughout the day. These will be wintry in nature over higher ground.
A fine start to the day for France though cloud and rain will move in from the northwest and spread across the northern half of the country and into Belgium. A cloudy but dry day for the Netherlands, Germany and the Czech Republic. Also dry for Poland which will see some good sunny spells.
Dry and bright for Denmark and the Baltic states though some wintry showers may affect coastal fringes of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. Mostly fine and dry for Finland, Sweden and Norway too on Tuesday.
