Local thundery downpours southern Europe
Fair for Spain and Portugal with plenty of sunshine. A risk of isolated afternoon showers in the northwest. Staying fine in the Balearics again with sunny spells. Some showers in Italy, these heavy in central and northern areas. Greece should be dry with some sunshine whilst showers will affect Turkey.
Breezy with sunshine and dry weather in France. There will be sunny spells in the Low Countries and Poland, although some showers in the east. Windy in Poland with some rain and showers in the east, with rain setting in heavier with time and winds strengthening. Further showers and wind in Hungary but sunny spells and showers for Austria and Switzerland.
Sunny spells in Denmark and dry. Windy for the Baltic States and dry here with some sunny spells. It will be fair for Finland, again with some sunshine. Sweden will be dry with more sunshine, and it should be staying fair across Norway too.
High pressure dominates across northern Europe, whilst lower pressure lies further south. A strong east to northeasterly breeze in central European countries. Scattered thundery showers for northern Spain and Portugal, although southern parts of Iberia and the Balearic islands should stay dry and sunny.
Some thundery showers breaking out along the spine of Italy, plus Sicily, Sardinia and locally in southern France. Generally showery and cool across east and southeastern Europe, with some prolonged downpours for Greece and Bulgaria. Areas of rain too for Austria and the Czech Republic.
Dry weather prevails for the Low Counties, much of Germany and France. Scandinavia is generally dry with light winds and strong warm sunshine for Norway and Sweden. A little rain may affect the Arctic regions as a weak front passes eastward.
